Our time together of praying over each and every woman in our church body reminded us about the ministry that God has for us as women… As Brian prayed over everyone, I was reminded of the significance we have in Jesus, as we are His workmanship created to do the good works he set before us(Ephesians 2:10). Every last one of us…

I realized the other day as I was driving around doing my errands, that I am missing it. In the midst of busyness, chores, work, and life, I am missing it. All of it. The ‘it’ of what life is supposed to be all about. I’ve allowed myself to get bogged down by petty concerns and irritations and grown apathetic to the blessings that God has surrounded me with. The knowledge of this hit me like a ton of bricks and disrupted my little pity party that life wasn’t feeling ‘fun’ or ‘great.’ I received a large dose of reality that life wasn’t about things just being fun or great. The things that really count and matter to God are so much bigger and so much more than just feeling happy all the time because everything is going my way. (more…)

What a day of celebration we shared yesterday… Two people baptized!!! See the pictures below of our dear brother and sister, Eric and Selah, being baptized!!! Praise God time and time again for that day, and so blessed to have you in the family!

Only a few ANNOUNCEMENTS to visit again:

1. We have created opportunities for this series we are in with “MORE” to have what we’re calling “MORE Labs.” These will be a few events that we invite everyone into to experience more of what we are being taught on the weekends through the messages and the series. FIRST OF WHICH, is out of our message yesterday that connected us with “Community” and “Relationships”… we are organizing DINNER FOR EIGHT. What this will be is two nights set aside for you to join up to seven other people from our campus for a shared meal and time of community. If you sign up, you will be put together with people who live in your same city and are free for the same night… It’s that basic! The two nights we are opening up for sign-ups will be Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th. Worship continued to encourage us beyond singing the songs to God… Brandon encouraged us to look at worship as obedience, and out of that life we submit to Jesus we can really give Him the worship and adoration He desires…

I went to see my new Spiritual Director for the first time yesterday.  A Spiritual Director is someone who basically facilitates, directs, cheers on and helps you and God connect and be in healthy relationship.  Yup, I could use some of that.

She’s awesome and I’m very lucky to get to spend time with her. I asked her if she would spend some time with me because of the way she talked about Jesus.  She guest-taught in my class one night and talked about Jesus like she was a little girl.  It appeared as if she truly delighted in Him and that she really believed that He delights in her.  This idea of “delight” has, for the most part, eluded me to this point in my relationship with Jesus.  It’s getting better!….but still seems so far off at times. The only plan for the day was to share… to tell stories… to claim the incredible works of our God and declare His life given over to so, so many in so, so, so many different and significant ways.

What were the stories about? The question began with: “How was Easter this year for you? What happened that week? It was the first Easter service for my 7 month old son, Ben. At first, I didn’t think it would really be all that different. I mean, he’s way to young to understand the service, or what Francis would be saying. He would probably take a quick look at what was happening on stage, and then resume playing with his toys, which would be far more interesting to him. I wasn’t expecting for him to change my outlook on Easter, and remind me why I fell in love with Jesus in the first place.

Having grown up in the church and being a Christian most of my life, it’s really easy for me to get caught up in the routine of things. To take for granted stories and events I’ve heard or been to a hundred times. It’s not that I mean to do this, I think it’s just something we as humans have to purposely overcome, and a lot of times I”m not in the mindset to think about over coming it. So I just go along through the motions, happy to celebrate, but ultimately seeing things through the lens of experience. (more…)

And show up he did. In ways I never could have expected, in epic, amazing, undefinable glory. Over the course of the weekend He declared in a loud voice, you are Mine, and I love you. He showed me the depth of His love for me through my two sons, ages two and four. I brought them in to worship with me and my wife at the end of service. And as we sang, I put my hand in the air, reaching towards the cross, and their little hands joined mine. They had never done that before. At that moment, my love and adoration for them hit a new level, and it was at that moment that God spoke to me. He said “do you feel how much you love them right now? I love you more.” For the first time, I felt the weight of his love. But this, it turned out, was only the beginning. (more…)
